UCM Walkathon and Picnic

Welcome to our walkathon fundraiser page. This event is family friendly and everyone is welcome. Confederation Park is stroller, wagon and wheelchair accessible with lots of areas to explore. From the creek, to climbing trees and a wonderful playground, everyone young and old will have a wonderful time.

Bring a picnic lunch for your family and stay after the walkathon to enjoy the park and fellowship!

Please check out the directions below. Don’t put Confederation Park in your maps because it will take you to a different park entrance.

    Confederation Park

    From Deerfoot Trail Calgary,

    Turn west on McKnight Blvd

    Then turn left or south on 4th Street NW

    Then turn right or west on 30th Ave NW

    Drive to the bottom of the hill and parking is on the left.

    Walk through the gate and we will be set up on the left side of the path under a blue canopy.

 FAQs

  • UCM is a unique charity because we send 100% of the sponsorship money to Liberia and 0% is used for the operating costs here in Canada. So each year we need to raise the amount needed to cover ALL the charities expenses.

  • UCM needs to raise $20,000 for all the charities operating costs in 2026.

  • Everyone is welcome to be involved in the walkathon and raising the funds needed. Talk to your family and friends and get them to donate to your walk. Any donation $25 and over will receive a tax receipt in January 2026.

  • The walk takes place at Confederation Park and is approximately 5 km.

  • Bank fees, credit card fees, annual website fees, paypal and website fees, postage, accountant, insurance, honorarium, office expenses, annual return costs etc.

  • Donations can be made multiple ways. E-transfer is the best because there are no charges so UCM receives the full donation. Cash and cheques are accepted. Call in with a credit card number or donate through the website.
